The Fords have been farming in the Riga Michigan area since the Civil War. The current generation specializes in certified organic row crops and forages, which we feed our beef cattle. We produce corn, soybeans wheat and hay without the use of genetically modified seed, synthetic fertilizers or chemicals. Ford Farms has been a producer of certified organic crops since 1988.
The majority of the feed that goes to our beef cattle is produced on our farm. While our cattle are not certified organic they are born and raised on organic pasture and fed the hay and corn that we produce.
We believe that healthy quality animals yield healthy quality beef. We do not use subtherapuetic antibiotics or artificial growth hormones in our cattle. We rely on fresh air and quality feed to keep our animals healthy.
